Learn to set up and run a marketing campaign in Asana from intake through optimization. You’ll organize work into clear campaign phases, assign tasks and owners, set due dates and approvals, map dependencies, and use campaign health evidence to recognize delivery risk. You’ll also track A/B test variants and checkpoints, sequence deliverables toward a launch date, and review team capacity before committing work. Hands-on activities use Asana Projects, Sections, Dashboards, Custom Fields, Timeline view, and Workload. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to build and operate a structured campaign workspace and make evidence-based scheduling and health decisions. Designed for marketing coordinators and campaign managers, this course assumes no prior Asana experience. Some Timeline, Dashboard, dependency, approval, and Workload features require paid Asana plans. If you don’t have access to the required paid features, supplied evidence and equivalent pathways are available to support your learning.

Syllabus

  • Campaign structures: Organize the campaign lifecycle
    • A well-defined campaign lifecycle gives marketing teams a clear view of where work belongs, who is responsible, and what must happen next. You will represent a six-phase campaign lifecycle in Asana using a project, sections, and tasks. You will organize ownership, due dates, approvals, and completion evidence to clarify task progress and support effective handoffs from intake through optimization. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026 and assumes a Personal plan or higher for the standard hands-on pathway. If a temporary access issue prevents you from using Asana, an approved CSV fallback is provided for the practice assignment. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Campaign structures: Monitor campaign health
    • Current campaign-health signals help marketing teams detect launch risk before a missed deadline becomes unavoidable. You will examine task status, due dates, overdue work, completion metrics, and progress across lifecycle phases using Asana Dashboard evidence or supplied campaign-health evidence. By connecting the different signals, you will identify the issue posing the greatest risk to campaign progress and recommend a focused corrective action based on your findings. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026. Dashboard widget activities require a Starter plan with a paid seat; an alternate path is provided if you don't have one. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Marketing operations: Connect work in the Work Graph
    • Connected work helps marketing teams see how individual activities contribute to campaign execution and how changes can affect the wider workflow. You will examine how campaign projects, content tasks, owners, approvals, due dates, dependencies, and supporting evidence connect in Asana. By tracing and interpreting these relationships, you will identify gaps that could affect visibility, handoffs, or downstream work and explain how those gaps could disrupt campaign execution. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026 and assumes a Personal plan or higher to complete the hands-on activities. Where plan-dependent relationship evidence is required, supplied evidence is provided so you do not need to configure paid features. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Marketing operations: Standardize campaign execution
    • Consistent operating practices help marketing teams move work reliably from intake through reporting. You will apply a standardized routine that connects entry checks, task and evidence updates, ownership, handoffs, approvals, and reporting records in Asana. By reviewing the workflow for missing or inconsistent information, you will correct issues that could interrupt the routine or delay the next stage of campaign execution. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026 and assumes a Personal plan or higher to complete the hands-on activities. The Personal-plan pathway uses structured review or sign-off evidence where formal Approval functionality is unavailable. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • A/B testing: Structure an experiment
    • Consistent experiment tracking helps marketing teams keep two variants comparable and ready for meaningful review. You'll examine how Asana tasks, custom fields, due dates, and checkpoints can represent an A/B test, and identify the information needed to keep two variants operationally comparable and ready for review. By inspecting a supplied experiment structure, you'll identify gaps in variant labeling, ownership, timing, and checkpoint setup and explain how those gaps could affect experiment execution or review. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026 and assumes a Personal plan or higher to complete the hands-on activities. Custom-field configuration requires a Starter plan or higher; an equivalent Personal-plan pathway using standardized task names, descriptions, assignees, due dates, comments, attachments, and dated checkpoint tasks is provided. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • A/B testing: Run checkpoints and record decisions
    • A structured review cycle helps marketing teams evaluate A/B test evidence consistently and maintain a clear record of what happens next. You will confirm launch readiness, update execution tasks, and document results and supporting evidence at defined checkpoints in Asana. By reviewing the available findings, you will record a traceable decision to adopt, extend, revise, stop, or run a follow-up test, including the rationale and follow-up action for campaign stakeholders. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026 and assumes a Personal plan or higher to complete the hands-on activities. Starter-plan custom fields may be used where available, but the Personal-plan pathway preserves the required checkpoint, decision, evidence, and follow-up information without requiring paid features. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Campaign scheduling: Sequence the launch plan
    • A dependency-aware schedule helps marketing teams understand how timing changes can affect downstream work and a fixed launch date. You will estimate deliverable durations, connect predecessor and successor tasks, set milestones, and plan backward from the launch date in Asana. By reviewing Timeline and calendar evidence, you will identify scheduling conflicts, distinguish launch-critical work from work that can run in parallel, evaluate the effects of a changed approval date, and adjust the sequence while protecting the launch milestone. If Timeline is unavailable, you will complete the same scheduling analysis using supplied annotated evidence. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026. Timeline activities require a Starter plan or higher; an alternate path using List and Calendar views plus supplied Timeline and dependency evidence is provided if you don't have access to Timeline. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Campaign Scheduling: Analyze Team Capacity
    • Balanced task assignments help marketing teams maintain realistic schedules without compromising role fit, dependencies, or launch timing. You will analyze assignments, estimated effort, due dates, role requirements, schedule dependencies, and team-capacity information to identify an overloaded contributor and evaluate the effect on downstream work. By comparing rebalancing options, you will recommend an adjustment that protects the fixed launch date. You will also distinguish a capacity problem from a role-fit problem and document assumptions when capacity or effort evidence is incomplete. You will use Asana Workload when available or complete the same capacity analysis using supplied annotated evidence and a workload-estimation worksheet. This content reflects Asana as of August 2026. Workload activities require an Advanced plan or higher; an alternate path using supplied Workload evidence and a capacity-analysis worksheet is provided if you don't have access to Workload. You can complete the Asana activities in a supported web browser; no desktop software installation is required.
  • Project Module: Launch a campaign workspace
    • An integrated campaign workspace helps marketing teams coordinate execution, experimentation, scheduling, and launch-readiness decisions. Starting with a supplied Asana project for a six-week seasonal campaign, you will organize work across six lifecycle phases and complete the ownership, due dates, review evidence, dependencies, and operating evidence needed to support execution. You will also update a two-variant A/B test and evaluate campaign-health, schedule, and team-capacity evidence to identify a readiness risk and recommend a corrective action that protects the fixed launch date. Six focused evidence submissions and a written recommendation document what you configured, what you validated, and why your final production-readiness decision is defensible. After grading, the six evidence files may optionally be assembled into a portfolio-ready evidence package. Who this is for: This project is for marketing coordinators and campaign managers who are ready to combine campaign structure, marketing operations, experiment tracking, scheduling, health monitoring, and capacity analysis in one realistic project.
