Build practical skills for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective storage solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this course, you will explore core AWS storage services and learn how to select the right storage solution based on performance, availability, durability, scalability, and cost requirements. You will work with key services such as Amazon S3, Amazon EBS, Amazon EFS, Amazon FSx, AWS Storage Gateway, AWS DataSync, AWS Backup, and AWS Transfer Family. The course also covers storage security, data protection, lifecycle management, replication, monitoring, and optimization strategies. Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, you will learn how to design storage architectures for different application and workload requirements. By completing the course, you will be better prepared to evaluate AWS storage options, implement appropriate solutions, and optimize storage environments for reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Syllabus

  • Amazon S3 Fundamentals and Access Management
    • In this section, you'll build a strong foundation in Amazon S3, learning how to store, manage, and secure objects in the cloud. You'll begin by exploring Amazon S3 fundamentals, key features, and versioning, gaining an understanding of how S3 provides scalable and durable object storage. As you progress, you'll explore S3 access control using Access Control Lists (ACLs) and bucket policies. Through guided demonstrations, you'll gain practical experience configuring these controls to manage access to S3 buckets and objects securely. The section further introduces S3 Object Lifecycle Management, helping you understand how to automate the transition and expiration of objects based on defined rules. Through practical demonstrations, you'll learn how lifecycle policies can help optimize storage usage and costs. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of Amazon S3 fundamentals, access management, versioning, and lifecycle management, enabling you to securely and efficiently manage object storage on AWS.
  • S3 Replication, Storage Classes, and Encryption
    • In this section, you'll explore Amazon S3 storage optimization and data protection, learning how to manage data across regions and choose the right storage options. You'll begin by understanding S3 Cross-Region Replication and its use cases, followed by a practical demonstration. As you progress, you'll explore the different S3 Storage Classes and their use cases. Through guided demonstrations, you'll gain practical experience selecting storage classes based on access patterns and data requirements. The section further introduces S3 Storage Classes comparison, pricing considerations, and S3 Glacier Storage Classes. Through practical demonstrations, you'll learn how to use archival storage options for long-term and cost-effective data management. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of S3 replication, storage classes, pricing, and Glacier storage, enabling you to optimize storage costs while protecting and managing data effectively.
  • S3 Security, Integration, and File Storage
    • In this section, you'll explore advanced Amazon S3 features for securing, integrating, and accessing data. You'll begin by understanding S3 encryption and how it works to protect objects stored in S3.As you progress, you'll explore AWS Storage Gateway, including its different capabilities and pricing considerations. Through a guided demonstration, you'll gain practical experience understanding how Storage Gateway connects on-premises environments with AWS storage. The section further introducempre-signed URLs, helping you understand how to securely enable access to S3 resources from applications and temporary users.By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of S3 encryption, Storage Gateway, CORS, and pre-signed URLs, enabling you to securely integrate and access S3 storage in different environments.
  • Amazon EFS and Amazon EBS Fundamentals
    • In this section, you'll explore AWS file and block storage services, focusing on Amazon EFS and Amazon EBS. You'll begin with Amazon EFS fundamentals and gain practical experience working with EFS through a hands-on demonstration. As you progress, you'll explore Amazon EBS fundamentals, including how block storage supports EC2 workloads. You'll also learn about EBS data protection, access control, and Multi-Attach capabilities. The section further introduces EBS snapshots, helping you understand how to protect, back up, and restore EBS data efficiently. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of Amazon EFS and EBS, enabling you to select and manage appropriate file and block storage solutions for AWS workloads.
