AWS Developer Tools Essentials is designed to help learners build a strong understanding of AWS services and tools used for application development, deployment, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), package management, application performance, and observability. The course introduces AWS CloudShell, Amazon CodeGuru Reviewer, AWS Amplify, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodeBuild, Amazon CodeGuru Profiler, AWS CodeArtifact, AWS CodePipeline, and AWS CodeCommit. The course is divided into three modules, with each module further segmented into lessons and video lectures. Learners will explore application development tools, application delivery and deployment automation, CI/CD workflows, application performance monitoring, artifact management, and source code management. The course also includes demonstrations and hands-on activities for services such as AWS Amplify, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodeArtifact, and AWS CodePipeline. Course Modules Module 1: Development and AWS Services Module 2: Deployment and CI/CD Module 3: Monitoring, Performance, and CI/CD By the end of this course, a learner will be able to: Understand AWS tools used for application development, including AWS CloudShell, Amazon CodeGuru Reviewer, and AWS Amplify. Explain application deployment and CI/CD concepts using AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS CodeDeploy, and AWS CodeBuild. Understand application performance and observability using Amazon CodeGuru Profiler. Manage software packages and artifacts using AWS CodeArtifact. Understand CI/CD and source code management capabilities using AWS CodePipeline and AWS CodeCommit.

Syllabus

  • Development and AWS Services
    • In this section, you'll build a strong foundation in AWS development tools and application development services, learning how AWS supports developers in building, reviewing, and deploying cloud-based applications. You'll begin by exploring AWS CloudShell and gain hands-on experience using its browser-based shell environment to interact with AWS resources through the command line. As you progress, you'll explore Amazon CodeGuru and CodeGuru Reviewer, learning how these services help identify code quality issues, performance problems, and potential improvements through automated code analysis. You'll also discover AWS Amplify and understand how it simplifies application development by providing tools for initializing projects and setting up cloud-based backends. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of key AWS development tools and services, enabling you to work with AWS resources from the command line, improve application code quality, and build cloud-enabled applications using AWS Amplify.
  • Deployment and CI/CD
    • In this section, you'll build a strong foundation in AWS application deployment and CI/CD, learning how AWS services automate application delivery and streamline software release processes. You'll begin by exploring AWS Elastic Beanstalk and AWS Amplify, gaining an understanding of how applications can be deployed and hosted with managed AWS services. As you progress, you'll explore AWS CodeDeploy and learn how to automate application deployments across AWS compute environments. Through guided setup and demonstrations, you'll gain practical experience configuring CodeDeploy and deploying applications efficiently. The section further introduces AWS CodeBuild, helping you understand how to automate the process of compiling source code, running tests, and producing deployable artifacts as part of a CI/CD workflow. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of AWS deployment and CI/CD services, enabling you to automate application builds, deployments, and hosting while improving the efficiency and reliability of software delivery.
  • Monitoring, Performance, and CI/CD
    • In this section, you'll build a strong foundation in AWS application performance, artifact management, and CI/CD automation. You'll begin by exploring Amazon CodeGuru Profiler and learn how it helps identify application performance issues and optimize resource usage. As you progress, you'll explore AWS CodeArtifact and understand how it securely stores, manages, and shares software packages and dependencies. Through a guided demonstration, you'll gain practical experience working with CodeArtifact repositories and package management. The section further introduces AWS CodePipeline and its role in automating application delivery workflows. Through practical demonstrations, you'll learn how CodePipeline connects development, build, testing, and deployment stages to create efficient and repeatable CI/CD pipelines. By the end of this section, you'll have a solid understanding of AWS performance monitoring, artifact management, and CI/CD capabilities, enabling you to optimize applications and automate reliable software delivery workflows.
