In this course, you'll explore how AI and blockchain can work together to address challenges across healthcare, arts and media, global commerce, and energy. You’ll examine practical applications and evaluate how these technologies can improve trust, efficiency, transparency, and resilience.
In healthcare, you’ll analyze personalized medicine, digital twins, clinical trials, pharmaceutical supply chains, secure data sharing, and administrative automation. You’ll then examine how blockchain can support creators through content authenticity, direct compensation, NFTs, smart contracts, and interactive digital experiences.
You’ll also explore digital identity, decentralized marketplaces, cross-border payments, customs clearance, logistics, and ESG tracking in global commerce. Finally, you’ll examine decentralized energy markets, grid optimization, tokenized energy assets, carbon credits, and incentives for energy efficiency.
Syllabus
- Industry Applications and Case Studies
- In this module, you’ll explore how AI and blockchain are being applied in healthcare to improve patient care, accelerate innovation, and streamline operations. You’ll examine use cases such as personalized medicine, digital twins, more efficient clinical trials, safer pharmaceutical supply chains, and administrative automation, while considering how blockchain supports secure data sharing, traceability, and trust across healthcare systems. By the end of the module, you’ll be able to analyze how these technologies can work together to make healthcare more precise, efficient, and resilient.
- Arts and Media in a Web3 World
- In this module, you’ll explore how blockchain is transforming the creative economy by giving creators more control over their work, improving compensation models, and strengthening trust in digital content. You’ll examine how blockchain can verify authenticity, help distinguish original and AI-generated media, support direct creator payments through NFTs and smart contracts, and enable new interactive experiences in virtual worlds and fan communities. By the end of the module, you’ll be able to evaluate how blockchain can reshape arts and media in ways that are more transparent, equitable, and participatory.
- Global Commerce in a Web3 World
- In this module, you’ll explore how AI and blockchain are reshaping global commerce by making trade more transparent, efficient, and adaptive. You’ll examine use cases involving digital identity, decentralized marketplaces, cross-border payments, customs clearance, supply chain logistics, and ESG tracking, and you’ll learn how AI and blockchain can work together to improve trust, automate decisions, and streamline the movement of goods, value, and information across borders. By the end of the module, you’ll be able to explain how these technologies are transforming global trade systems and enabling more connected and accountable commercial networks.
- Energy and Sustainability in a Web3 World
- In this module, you’ll explore how AI and blockchain can help create a more sustainable, resilient, and decentralized energy future. You’ll examine how these technologies support peer-to-peer energy markets, improve grid optimization and resilience, enable the tokenization of energy assets such as carbon credits and renewable energy shares, and incentivize energy efficiency through transparent tracking and adaptive automation. By the end of the module, you’ll be able to explain how AI and blockchain can transform energy systems in ways that improve sustainability, trust, and user participation.
- Course Recap
- In this module, you’ll review the key industry applications covered in this module, including healthcare, arts and media, global commerce, and energy. The graded assignment will evaluate your understanding of how AI and blockchain can be applied across these sectors, including their role in improving healthcare operations, empowering creators, reshaping global commerce, and supporting more sustainable energy systems.
