- Course Introduction
- This course explores how artificial intelligence can support language learning and teaching. Designed for educators, language instructors, education technology enthusiasts, and learners, it combines key theories with practical applications to enhance teaching and learning in diverse linguistic contexts. You will learn how to integrate AI tools responsibly, critically evaluate learning platforms, and apply frameworks such as multiliteracies and e-learning ecologies to design meaningful, AI-supported language learning experiences.
- MODULE 1: A HISTORIC OVERVIEW OF AI AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE EDUCATION
- This module provides a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and explains the evolution of English language education methodologies as well as the integration of AI into language education.
- MODULE 2: PLATFORMS, AI, AND LANGUAGE EDUCATION
- Overview: This module aims to provide an understanding of what platforms are, and to explain the evolution of AI in platforms, from AI to GAI, as well as the integration of GAI into language education and its implications.
- MODULE 3: FRAMEWORKS AND CASE STUDIES IN AI-SUPPORTED LANGUAGE EDUCATION
- Overview: This module introduces key theoretical frameworks and a case study that support the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in language education. Learners will explore how these frameworks provide a foundation for evaluating and designing AI-supported language education environments. The module also presents a real-world case study demonstrating the application of AI tools in various language learning contexts.
