Artificial intelligence (AI) agents are rapidly becoming a core driver of business automation. Harnessing the power of generative AI and large language models (LLMs) through agentic frameworks introduces powerful new ways to streamline operations, boost productivity, and free users from tedious and time-wasting tasks. By designing and deploying agents responsibly and effectively, organizations can accelerate adoption, reduce risks, and gain a competitive advantage in the impending "agentic shift." This course is an introduction to AI agents from a strategic business perspective. It will not teach you how to build agents—instead, it will teach you how to determine whether, where, and how agents should exist in your organization. This course is designed for business leaders, consultants, product and project managers, and other decision makers who are interested in unlocking the power of agentic AI to enhance business processes. It's also a great starting point for technical practitioners who have been tasked with implementing agentic solutions in the organization. This course is also designed to assist students in preparing for the CertNexus® AgenticAIBIZ™ (Exam AGZ-110) credential. In this course, you will: identify the fundamentals of agentic AI; determine whether AI agents are suitable for a given business problem; design business-driven agentic solutions at a high level, without going deep into the technical details; manage the risks of agentic AI; adopt agentic AI into the organization; and prepare to execute an agentic strategy so implementation can proceed.

Syllabus

  • Agentic AI Fundamentals
    • The first step in understanding the power of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) is grasping the fundamentals. In this lesson, you'll identify the concepts that underpin agentic AI so that you have a framework from which to explore its business implications.
  • Determining the Suitability of AI Agents
    • There's always a certain degree of hype around emerging technologies, and agentic artificial intelligence (AI) is no different. It's important to temper your expectations by understanding that agentic AI is not always the best choice for every organization in every situation. In some cases, traditional tools or human-driven effort are still the most effective approaches. In this lesson, you'll determine whether agentic AI is a good fit for the organization's needs.
  • Designing Agentic Solutions at a High Level
    • Assuming you've determined that agentic artificial intelligence (AI) is appropriate for your needs, you're ready to start designing a solution. You won't get into the technical details, but it still helps to plan the solution at a high level. That way, you'll be better prepared to support that solution as a stakeholder.
  • Managing Agentic AI Risks
    • For all its benefits, agentic artificial intelligence (AI) also presents significant risk to the organization. You must manage these risks in order to be successful, reducing the chances that this new technology will do more harm than good.
  • Adopting Agentic AI into the Organization
    • Like any new technology, treating agentic artificial intelligence (AI) as if it were operating in a vacuum will lead to problems for the organization—problems that are largely preventable. This actually goes doubly for agentic AI, since it's meant to integrate with and/or supplant business processes that have probably been around for a while. You must ensure agentic AI is adopted into the organization with minimal disruption while also aligning with overall business strategy. That way, you can uphold its value proposition.
  • Preparing to Execute Agentic Strategy
    • You've successfully obtained buy-in from various stakeholders regarding the agentic initiative. But before your organization can get started building an artificial intelligence (AI) agent for production, you must ensure that everything's ready to go. In this lesson, you'll prepare to execute on your agentic strategy.
  • Completing the Course
    • You'll wrap things up and then validate what you've learned in this course by taking the credential exam.
