Syllabus

  • Drawing Complex Illustrations
    • You have experience creating relatively simple projects. Now, you can get started on design projects where you need to create complex illustrations. As the complexity of your projects increases, you will find it very difficult and time consuming to complete all your artwork with just the basic Adobe® Illustrator® features. Instead, you can apply several techniques that will let you create complex artwork from existing simple illustrations. In this lesson, you will draw complex illustrations.
  • Enhancing Artwork Using Painting Tools
    • You created complex illustrations by using different drawing techniques. Now, you may want to enhance those illustrations by painting them with beautiful fills and strokes. In this lesson, you will use painting tools to enhance artwork.
  • Customizing Colors and Swatches
    • You have used painting tools to enhance artwork. Imagine a situation in which you need to apply natural looking colors to an object. You may not be able to achieve the desired outcome by using the default swatches and colors available in Adobe® Illustrator®. However, you can customize the default colors and swatches to paint objects according to your preference. In this lesson, you will customize colors and swatches.
  • Formatting Type
    • You controlled the way colors and swatches affect your illustrations. Controlling the appearance of text is also equally important, if you want your artwork to look great. Whether you have short titles and sentences or large blocks of text, you need to enhance the appearance of the text in your artwork. In this lesson, you will format type.
  • Enhancing the Appearance of Artwork
    • Improving the appearance of your artwork will not stop with formatting type in your document. Imagine that you are creating a sales catalog for your company. You have added several photographs and product descriptions to this catalog. However, the sales manager wants the catalog to look unique so that it attracts customers. You can make the objects in the catalog stand out by using various Adobe® Illustrator® features such as effects, blends, masks, symbols, and graphic styles. In this lesson, you will enhance the appearance of artwork.
  • Preparing Content for Deployment
    • You applied different types of effects to your artwork. Having enhanced your artwork with different techniques, you would want to ensure that it appears as expected when printed. Printers use different technologies and settings to reproduce artwork. To ensure that your artwork prints identically and exactly the way you want it, you need to prepare it for printing. In this lesson, you will prepare content for deployment.
  • Setting Project Requirements
    • As a designer and developer using Adobe® Illustrator®, you will need to have a solid understanding of the purpose and audience for rich media content. You will need to identify project requirements, client goals, audience needs, and common problems that arise throughout the project development cycles. You will also need to be familiar with the term intellectual property. Finally, you will need to have a solid understanding of project tasks and common problems that arise throughout the project development cycle. In this lesson, you will set project requirements.
  • Completing the Course
    • You'll wrap things up and then validate what you've learned in this course by taking an assessment.
