Beginning with a foundational review of concepts from Spanish 1 and 2, Spanish 3 builds upon this knowledge by introducing you to stem-changing verbs, specifically the "o-ue" category. You will expand your understanding of the verb "to have" (tener) through learning practical idiomatic expressions that allow you to describe feelings, such as how to express being hot or cold, scared or patient, and how to convey obligation using the "have to" construction. You will learn various methods to discuss the future using the verb "to go" (ir), so you can confidently express intentions like "I am going to travel to Costa Rica next month." The course explores reflexive pronouns and reflexive verbs in depth, and covers the present progressive tense (using "-ing" verb endings) to help you describe actions currently in progress, whether you are learning, writing, or engaging in other activities. A central focus of the course is developing the ability to articulate your daily schedule and routine.
Upon completing Spanish 3, you will have the capability to describe your daily routine in detail, request directions, and express actions happening in the present moment, such as "I am talking on the phone."
