This five-day course brings together our MC 101: Media Composer Fundamentals I and our MC 110: Media Composer Fundamentals II to give you the complete foundation required for the Media Composer User Certification Exam.
You will begin with the interface and basic editing techniques, then progress through trimming, fine-tuning your edit, adjusting audio, handling multi-camera projects, adding transitions and titles, and exporting your finished project. All training is hands-on, using project-based lessons built around real-world footage, including extreme sports and documentary material.
Once you have mastered the editing fundamentals, you will move into creating effects within Avid Media Composer. You will explore the effects-building interface and learn audio adjustments, multilayered video compositing, tracking, stabilization, retiming methods, and basic color grading techniques.
Prerequisites:
- No prior familiarity with Media Composer is required.
- Completion of a Macintosh introductory course or equivalent experience is required.
- A background in editing, production, or post-production is strongly recommended.
- No previous experience with Avid Media Composer is necessary.
Each student works at their own dedicated workstation.
