Introduce your child to the exciting world of sewing in this beginner-friendly weekly course! Kids Sewing 101 is designed for young makers ages 7–14 who want to learn how to sew while building creativity, confidence, and hands-on skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Students will learn the fundamentals of sewing step by step, gaining confidence each week as they complete projects that lead to making their very first garment from a commercial pattern.
By the end of the course, students will feel comfortable using a sewing machine and will complete their first wearable garment!
What They'll Learn:
Students will learn basic sewing terminology and tools, how to safely operate a sewing machine, how to read and follow a commercial pattern, choose fabric, understand fabric grainlines, sew a variety of stitches and seam finishes, and construct simple garments from start to finish.
Projects:
Students will complete a denim tote bag and a garment from a commercial pattern, such as an elastic waist skirt or pants.

All fabric and supplies are included.
Course Duration:
8 hours of instruction, meeting once per week for 2-hour sessions.
