Overview

AutoCAD® Beyond the Basics is specifically designed for professionals utilizing AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT on Windows operating systems. This course does not cover AutoCAD for Mac. Building upon the foundational knowledge established in AutoCAD Essentials, this intermediate course explores advanced techniques and workflows that deepen your proficiency with the software. Rather than remaining limited to template usage, this course addresses template creation and customization, annotation style development, external reference management, and sophisticated design workflows employed by professional practitioners.

Throughout this course, you will develop expertise in advanced drawing and editing techniques; parametric constraint application for design flexibility; block creation and management across local and global contexts; comprehensive layer, annotation style, and template configuration; and external reference attachment and coordination. These capabilities represent the advanced skillset required for efficient professional design work.

Prerequisites:

  • Completion of AutoCAD Essentials or equivalent practical AutoCAD experience
  • Foundational understanding of design and drafting concepts and industry terminology
  • Proficiency with your operating system fundamentals
