The National Youth Cyber Defense Competition is an online cyber defense competition offered in partnership between Cisco Networking Academy and CyberPatriot to inspire students towards careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. This competition places teams of middle school and high school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing a small conpany's network. Through a series of online competition rounds, teams are given a set of virtual operating systems and are tasked with discovering cybersecurity vulnerabilities while maintaning critical services. The top teams nationwide earn all-expenses-paid trips to Maryland for the National Finals where they can earn national recognition and scholarship money.
