Memory Sites and Human Rights

The course provides an excellent overview of the legal, conceptual, historical, and practical underpinnings of memorialization processes. The course methodology and structure make it appropriate for those new to the topic of memory and human rights, as well as for seasoned scholars and practitioners. Readings, audio-visual materials, and additional resources are framed by quizzes and discussions that aim at providing a comprehensive picture of the subject matter, as well as at piquing further interest. Course instructors are drawn from various fields, including academia, nonprofits, and the arts, and are experts in their respective disciplines; their presentations and course materials are varied and insightful.
