Strategic Project Leadership (PMO)

A mature PMO does more than track projects. It aligns the portfolio to strategy, governs decision-making at the executive level, and leads the organizational change required to sustain that shift. This course builds the skills to design and run that kind of PMO.

You will define the vision and operating model for a strategic PMO, implement a repeatable portfolio management process, and design governance frameworks with clear roles, responsibilities, and decision gates. The course closes with the change management and communication strategies needed to bring the organization along and embed portfolio thinking at every level.

Syllabus

Establish the vision, functions, and operating model for a strategic PMO, including supportive, controlling, and directive configurations
Implement a repeatable, objective portfolio management process to select, prioritize, and balance projects based on strategic contribution and risk appetite
Design and manage a governance framework including roles, responsibilities, and decision-making gates to ensure executive oversight of the project portfolio
Lead change management and communication plans to transition the organization from tactical project execution to strategic portfolio management
