During the course, you will begin learning vocabulary and customs related to socializing and networking in English. The goal is to enable you to interact with business contacts in person, on the phone and over email in a professional way.

Syllabus
- Introduction to Business English Communication
- In this module, learners are introduced to the course goals, structure, and key communication skills. They will reflect on their learning goals, assess their current business English proficiency, and begin building confidence in professional introductions and networking. Learners will practice introducing themselves, keeping conversations going, ending conversations appropriately, and using vocabulary related to jobs and professional settings.
- Introductions
- In this module, learners build the language needed to talk about jobs, companies, and business locations. They will practice describing job responsibilities, explaining what a company does, and discussing company history and business identity. The module strengthens learners’ ability to present professional information clearly and effectively in networking situations.
- Emails
- This module introduces the basics of writing professional emails in English. Learners will study email structure, subject lines, greetings, closings, tone, formality, and directness. They will practice writing short business emails that are clear, polite, and appropriate for different professional contexts.
- Meeting Arrangements on the Telephone
- In this module, learners focus on professional telephone communication. They will practice beginning and ending calls, arranging meetings, and leaving clear messages. The module helps learners build confidence using polite, clear, and effective language for business interactions on the phone.
- Meeting Arrangements (Email)
- In this module, learners apply their email skills to arranging and managing meetings in writing. They will practice writing invitations, replying to invitations, making changes to plans, and sending follow-up messages. Learners will also explore the differences between professional emails and shorter text-based communication.
