This course explores the operational challenges of running Amazon Bedrock Guardrails in production. Building on foundational guardrail configuration knowledge, the course addresses the critical gap between initial deployment and effective operation — specifically, how confidence-threshold interactions cause false positives and false negatives in real-world traffic. Participants will learn to monitor guardrail performance with CloudWatch metrics, debug interventions using trace outputs, apply policy layering to balance security and usability, tune contextual grounding for RAG applications, and validate changes using detect mode and test-driven approaches. The course includes a hands-on demonstration using a healthcare chatbot scenario that walks through the full tuning lifecycle. This is a Level 300 course.
