This course was developed by members of AWS Technical Field Communities (TFC), an AWS community of technical experts. The content is intended to complement our standard training curriculum and augment your AWS learning journey. We are aware some courses have accessibility limitations and are working to address. If you require accommodation, please contact AWS Training and Certification Customer Support.

Learners will discover how to use Amazon CloudWatch's new native support for OpenTelemetry metrics ingestion and PromQL querying. The course covers enabling OpenTelemetry ingestion and AWS resource enrichment, deploying Container Insights on Amazon EKS, querying infrastructure and application metrics with PromQL in CloudWatch and Amazon Managed Grafana, and creating custom application metrics with the OpenTelemetry SDK. Participants will learn how to consolidate high-cardinality container, application, and AWS metrics into a single destination -- eliminating the need for separate Prometheus backends and reducing operational overhead.
