Learners will discover how Nearmap built a continental-scale aerial search system using Amazon S3 Vectors to index over 1 billion vector embeddings from high-resolution imagery. The course covers how semantic search -- called Zero-shot Search -- lets users find objects in aerial photos using text or image queries without training custom detectors. Participants will learn about vector embeddings, how similar concepts cluster in vector space, and how Amazon S3 Vectors provides cost-efficient native vector storage and querying at massive scale, enabling flexible answers to unanticipated questions across a 100-petabyte imagery archive.
