AWS SimuLearn is an online learning experience that pairs generative AI-powered
simulations with hands-on practice to help individuals learn how to translate
business problems into technical solutions through the simulation of dialog between
a customer and a technology professional.
AWS SimuLearn:
Build and Understand Code with Amazon Q
In this AWS SimuLearn assignment, you review a real-world scenario, helping a fictional customer design a solution on AWS. After the design is completed, you build the proposed solution in a guided lab within a live AWS Management Console environment. You gain hands-on experience working with AWS services, using the same tools technology professionals use to construct AWS solutions.
How it works
AWS SimuLearn is powered by generative AI to help develop your soft skills, such as communication and problem-solving, in life-like conversations with AI-generated customers. An AI quiz agent evaluates your conversation responses, and an AI helper agent, Dr. Newton, is available when you get stuck. After each solution-building conversation, you build and validate the solution in a live AWS Management Console environment.
Simulated business scenario
A children's educational publishing company wants to create an automated story generation system that produces personalized short stories based on user inputs, such as character names, themes, and settings.
Learning objectives

- Determine how to configure and test an AWS Lambda function that integrates with other AWS services.
- Determine how to use Amazon Q to generate and implement code suggestions.
- Identity key components of a serverless AI-powered story generation workflow that uses AWS services.
