Concept art is about building worlds, characters, and spaces that feel real, connected, and ready for production. This specialization teaches you to think and work like a professional concept artist, using Adobe Firefly as your creative partner across every stage of the process.
Across three courses, you'll move from foundational world-building to fully realized characters and environments. You'll start by defining a world's systems, rules, and visual language, producing a complete World Blueprint. Next, you'll design characters grounded in that world's logic, translating personality and narrative into visual form and building a Character System Pack. Finally, you'll design lived-in environments that reflect your world and characters, using light, scale, and composition to bring your ideas to life in a complete Environment Design Pack.
Throughout the specialization, you'll work in Adobe Firefly Boards to organize inspiration, build reusable visual systems, and maintain consistency across every image you create. Rather than producing isolated visuals, you'll develop an interconnected body of work: a world, a character, and a set of environments that all belong together.
By the end, you'll have a portfolio-ready pipeline of concept art assets and the professional workflow to keep building. Whether you're pursuing games, film, branding, or original IP, this specialization gives you both the creative thinking and the practical Firefly skills to bring imagined worlds to life.

Creative work becomes more powerful when it’s grounded in something larger than a single image. This course is designed to help you think like a world-builder, where every visual connects to a broader system of ideas, rules, and intent. As you begin shaping your project, you’ll learn how to move from inspiration to structure, organizing your thinking in a way that supports everything you create next. You’ll build a foundation that keeps your work clear, consistent, and expandable. By the end, you’ll have more than a direction, you’ll have a world that can continue to grow.
-
Characters become more meaningful when they feel like they belong to something larger. In this course, you’ll design characters as part of the world you’ve already built, grounded in its rules, shaped by its environment, and connected to its logic. Instead of focusing only on appearance, you’ll learn how to translate narrative, personality, and context into visual form. As you develop your concept art, you’ll build a character system that supports consistency across multiple images, expressions, and situations. You’ll also begin placing your characters into the world itself, creating scenes that feel intentional and connected. By the end of the course, you’ll have a complete Character System Pack and a set of character-in-world compositions, ready to support further development and expansion.

Your world has rules. Your characters have identity. Now it’s time to build the spaces where everything actually happens. In this course, you’ll design environments as lived-in, story-driven spaces, not just backgrounds. You’ll explore how rooms, streets, and public spaces reflect your character’s life and your world’s logic, using light, scale, objects, and composition to communicate meaning. Working in Adobe Firefly Boards, you’ll create a connected set of environments that feel consistent, intentional, and grounded. By the end, you’ll have a complete Environment Design Pack, a set of spaces that bring your world to life and show how your character moves through it every day.
