Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping how societies function, how businesses operate, and how public institutions deliver services. Yet, as AI technologies grow more powerful and more embedded in everyday life, understanding their legal, ethical, and societal implications becomes essential-not just for lawyers and policymakers, but for practitioners across all sectors. This MOOC series, AI and Law, has been designed precisely for that purpose: to provide non-lawyers with a foundational yet practical understanding of how law and AI intersect and how this knowledge can be applied in real-world contexts.
The series consists of four standalone MOOCs that together form a comprehensive pathway from foundational literacy to applied practice.
The first course, AI and Legal Foundations, builds essential literacy on how AI works and how legal principles apply.
The second course, Governing AI: Rules, Risks, and Responsibilities, explores how societies regulate AI and manage risks.
The third course, AI, Ethics, and Justice, examines fairness, accountability, and rights in the age of automation.
The fourth course, AI in Practice: Real-World Challenges, applies AI insights to key sectors such as healthcare, defence, criminal justice, intellectual property, and environmental governance.
