A lecture by Tomer Schlank exploring the Picard group of K(n)-local spectra and its significance in chromatic homotopy theory. Survey the development of these groups in stable homotopy theory and examine recent computational advances. Learn about a complete computation method for these groups at all large enough primes for every height n. Discover how p-adic geometry and Drinfeld's symmetric space reformulations, combined with results from Colmez–Dospinescu–Nizioł's paper, have enabled these breakthroughs. This research represents collaborative work with Tobias Barthel, Nathaniel Stapleton, and Jared Weinstein, scheduled for presentation on March 13, 2025, at the Simons Foundation.
