This conference talk explores innovative approaches to reducing the environmental footprint of the IT sector through waste heat recovery. Discover how Qarnot Computing, an HPC cloud provider, deploys OCP servers in Computing Boilers to provide both computing power and hot water for heat networks. Scientific Director Rémi Bouzel presents an experimental project that couples Qarnot Boiler modules with a silica gel adsorption chiller to produce cold (chilled water) from IT waste heat without using compressors. Learn about the impressive results of this system integration: 2-6kW cold production, 1.02 PUE, 0.24 ERE, 0.56 thermal COP, and the ability to produce chilled water from 20°C to 15°C—demonstrating a practical solution for creating additional value from server heat while advancing sustainability in computing infrastructure.
