Life on Earth and Beyond: Exploring Possibilities for Extraterrestrial Life

This was a was a good course "Life on Earth and Beyond: Exploring the Possibilities of Exterrestrial Life" through Dr. Chris Kempe.Taking us on a journey through life from microorganisms to exoplanets to life on other planets. We as humans many here pondering the vastness, likelihood and dissimilarity of life in the universe and in question to try to understand our place inhumanity and among the stars as in the late 1800's and 1900 as we
look at Mars more closely and the discovery of the Martian Canals. When here we begin looking at the certainty of the likelihood of other life in the universe and the overwhelming question at the surface of our thoughts, "Where is everybody" as in the Fermi Paradox by Enrico Fermi 1950 and looking to the Drake Equation also as "What is the likelihood for life to form here?". In looking for biotic signatures, the development of life past or present in the environment. When to look at life and to understand how to predict genetic features of living things and the changing the perspectives of life as it grows.
The course goes on to taking a closer look at this process from 1675-2005, Where in 1675 we look at life as microorganisms by Leewenhoek to Natural Selection by Darwin in 1859 on to extremophiles in 1977 to the Three Dimensions of life animal, fungal and bacteria and onward to planets around another star as in exoplanets and the search for habitable planets to 2005 at Enceladus where a liquid sample was taken for study. The type of questions answered might depend on the instrumentation of the satellite or probe from past to future samples. The reading in this sample uncovers a low metabolic rate leaving us with more questions.
Again, this was a really good course for taking a synopsis of life on Earth and Beyond through a biological and astrobiological viewpoint. It covered a large area from the development of life to the discovery of other planetary systems in the search for habitability among the stars. Thank you for the relevant information.
