COURSE OUTLINE: In social sciences, there is a huge demand for population studies. At present the subject is taught mostly as an optional paper in different departments such as Sociology, Economics, Geography, Psychology. A few universities and IIPS also offer diploma and masters course in the subject. There is a demand for modular courses among the Administrators, Market research workers, Media communication, and NGO workers. The aim of the course is to equip them with knowledge usually imparted in diploma and masters courses. Thus the course will serve a base for higher degrees such as Ph.D. Aspirants for civil service exams are also expected to benefit from this.
