Pharmacology is the branch of medical science that studies drugs and how they affect the human body. It explains how medicines work, how they are absorbed, distributed, metabolized, and excreted from the body, and what therapeutic and side effects they may produce. Pharmacology is mainly divided into two parts: pharmacodynamics, which studies what the drug does to the body, and pharmacokinetics, which studies what the body does to the drug. Understanding pharmacology is important for safe and effective treatment, proper dose selection, preventing drug interactions, and reducing harmful effects. It plays a key role in modern healthcare by helping professionals use medicines correctly and safely.

I found Professor Dave Explains really helpful for understanding Pharmacology basics. The way he explains complex topics like drug mechanisms and receptors is very clear and easy to follow. I like that he doesn’t overcomplicate things, so it becomes easier to build strong concepts without getting confused. His explanations are well-structured and logical, which helped me understand the flow of topics better. However, I feel that for detailed exam preparation, especially at college level, I still need to refer to textbooks for deeper understanding. Overall, it’s a great resource for strengthening fundamentals in Pharmacology.
