We would begin by learning the terminologies when learning penetration testing and ethical hacking, get introduced to penetration testing and the methodologies used in Penetration Testing, set up a penetration testing lab in Windows and Linux, move to passive information gathering and active information gathering, how to use tools such as Nessus, OpenVAS to perform various levels of vulnerability scanning on web applications or actual hosts.

We shall also discuss Network Penetration Testing and Network based attacks, actual exploitations and create custom exploits, Antivirus evation, and password hacking with john the ripper, hashcat etc.

We will conclude the course with an introduction to web application penetration testing, explaining the fundamentals of how the web works, OWASP Top 10 and how various vulnerabilities can be exploited.

I honestly had a mixed experience with this bootcamp. Since I’m still pretty new to cybersecurity, some parts of the course felt like a massive leap. It assumes you already know a lot about operating systems and networking protocols, so I found myself having to pause the lessons constantly to look up basic concepts on my own just to keep up. The lab environments were good and gave me some real hands-on time in the terminal, but the sudden jump from basic definitions to trying to exploit web vulnerabilities using the OWASP Top 10 was pretty overwhelming for a beginner.

That being said, it does cover a lot of important topics like reconnaissance and writing vulnerability reports, which I know will be useful later on. I just think the pace was way too fast for someone trying to learn the ropes, and it could have used a lot more step-by-step guidance for the practical exercises. If you already have a strong IT background it might be easier, but as a beginner, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars because it felt more frustrating than it needed to be.

Curso bem legal, não sabia que o nmap tinha tantas ferramentas legais dentro dele, com certeza me aprofundei bastante na ferramenta. Outra coisa super interessante são as ferramentas de pesquisa, the harvest, maltego, etc, que ferramentas incríveis, não tinha ideia que elas existissem, muito bom mesmo.

Never expected that Pentesting can be so interesting. I learnt so many tools and tricks in Linux that I didn't know about it such as Nmap, Privilege Escalation, host discovery, vulnerability analysis, firewall detection and invasion, brute-forcing, etc, and some basic linux commands.

I really enjoyed the online course. I thought it was well planned and layed out, easy for me to follow. The work load was just enough, so i could finish everything with enough time, learn about the topics and not feel over loaded and rushed.

Overall I really like this class because all lectures, assignments, and tests are straight forward. A couple things I dislike about the class are that there should be more opportunities for extra credit and it would be awesome if the final was an objective essay about what we have learned in this class or what we like about the class. I believe that I have more knowledge about ocean, weather, and marine lives and hopefully, I can use them in real life.

The course was everything you said it would be, fun but a lot of work. And it was! I enjoyed the web-labs because they were a lot of fun and easy to understand. And the answers were usually somewhere in the text. I also liked the assignments that required us to get online. Sometimes articles aside from the reading book gave me a better idea and understanding of the subject for that week. What I disliked was the short essay question because I found it difficult to explain certain concepts without introducing in some way, Ideas from the course notes or book (keeping in mind plagiarism). I never expected to learn so much from an online class; I now see the ocean life in a whole new way. I know I could have done better, but in the end I learned that an online class could be as much work or more than a regular class. However, I still enjoyed it very much.
