This conference talk from ElixirConf EU 2025 introduces Phoenix.Sync, a new library that adds real-time synchronization capabilities to Postgres-backed Phoenix applications. Discover how this library realizes José Valim's vision for adding real-time sync to Phoenix, enabling data synchronization into both Phoenix.LiveView and frontend web/mobile applications. Learn about the familiar function and macro APIs that integrate with Plug and Phoenix components (Controller, LiveView, Router, Stream). Explore how Phoenix.Sync addresses challenging synchronization problems including partial replication, fan out, and resilient data delivery at scale. The presentation demonstrates how to sync data from Postgres into backend Elixir and LiveView applications, how to extend that synchronization to frontend applications, and showcases the types of applications and AI systems that can be built leveraging Phoenix and sync capabilities.
