Watching the HILT Conference session on Making Peer Learning Effective really made me think about how I approach teaching. I loved how the speakers shared practical ways to help students learn from each other, not just from the teacher. It made me realize that peer learning can be more meaningful when structured thoughtfully, and that small changes in approach can make a big difference. I found myself nodding along with the examples and thinking about how I could try them in my own classroom. Overall, it was inspiring and gave me concrete ideas I’m excited to apply.

Effective peer learning hinges on creating a supportive, inclusive environment where learners feel safe to share, question, and collaborate. Reflecting on my experience, I found that peer learning becomes most impactful when roles are clearly defined, mutual respect is established, and tasks are structured to promote active engagement. It encourages deeper understanding as students explain concepts in their own words, challenge each other's thinking, and co-construct knowledge. However, it also requires guidance to ensure equitable participation and prevent misinformation. Overall, peer learning fosters not just academic growth but also communication, empathy, and confidence among learners.

Well, this is quite interesting because, it explores practical and first hand findings on making peer learning effective. Peer learning was the project topic I wanted to work on during my undergraduate but due to some challenges and insufficient resources I had to work on another topic. Even though there can be challenges in peer learning but I always believe it can be very effective. For example, it is easy to ask questions in peer learning and which can enhance discussion and lead to better understanding. I believe one of the fundamental tool for learning is to ask questions.
So, if I'm to rates this course, I had give it 90%.
