This is a truly wonderful course. I benefited greatly from it and understood the muscles surrounding the mouth and their importance. I also understood the mechanism of opening and closing the mouth through the lower jawbone, and how dentistry can solve snoring problems during sleep and how to address jaw issues.

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a hinge that connects your jawbone to your skull. It features a unique articular disc that cushions movement and allows complex sliding actions. In disc displacement, this cushion slips out of position, often due to injury or arthritis. This can produce a clicking sound when opening the mouth. If the disc moves completely out of place (displacement without reduction), it can lock the jaw, preventing full opening and leading to inflammation and myofascial pain.
