This conference talk explores how metadata from incident response and business communications can inadvertently leak sensitive information that benefits threat actors, with particular focus on unintentional exposures by external legal and crisis management teams. Learn how to analyze regulatory disclosures like SEC 8-K filings and previous security incidents using AI/ML techniques to establish effective pre-incident cross-team partnerships and prevent future information leaks. Presented by Liz Wharton, founder of Silver Key Strategies, who brings 20 years of experience advising on legal, business, information security, risk, and privacy matters. Wharton's background includes leadership roles at threat research startups and experience as Senior Assistant City Attorney for Atlanta's airport, where she contributed to the City's ransomware incident response team. Beyond her professional work, she volunteers as a mentor and serves on various startup, non-profit, and educational advisory boards.
