Explore the Anthropogenic Impact Accounting (AIA) ontology suite, an open-source semantic framework developed by the LFDT CA2-SIG Standards Working Group to standardize climate and sustainability impact data. Learn how this comprehensive solution addresses the critical challenge of data fragmentation across climate projects, where different organizations use varying terms, schemas, and structures to measure the same environmental phenomena. Discover the four-year development process involving rigorous bi-weekly working sessions and multiple redrafting cycles that created this coherent and extensible foundation for expressing impact data in universally interpretable formats. Understand how AIA enables better comparison, integration, and auditing of climate impact data, reducing friction for integrators and enabling meaningful global cross-platform impact accounting. Gain insights into the technical architecture and practical applications of this semantic framework that promises to transform how climate and sustainability projects share and utilize their impact measurements.
