"Sensor Technology and Application" is a key brand course in the instrumentation major at Beihang University, formerly known as the "Aviation Instrument" established by the famous patriotic scientist Prof. Shih-Nge Lin at the beginning of the school's establishment; At present, it is the core course of the national first-class major in measurement and control technology and instrumentation (2019), national excellent course (2010), the first batch of national excellent resource-sharing courses (2016), the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses (off-campus) (2020), and the first batch of national curriculum ideology and politics demonstration courses (2021). The supporting textbook of the course, "Sensor Technology and Application (4th Edition)", was independently edited by Prof. Shangchun Fan and published in 2022. The course takes the aerospace and industrial automation fields as the main application background, focus on physical sensors, and systematically introduces the main content covered by sensor technology. The current teaching includes: basic knowledge (Chapter 1-3), analog sensors (Chapters 4-10), resonant sensors (Chapters 11 and 12), and optical fiber sensors(Chapter 13). There are 14 segments in total, with a total duration of 81 minutes. The course focuses on measurement, introduces the two common scientific theories of sensor characteristics evaluation and characteristics of elastic sensitive elements, and then introduces each type of sensor from three levels: physical effects, transduction principles, and application characteristics. Each section and chapter have supporting objective questions to facilitate students to evaluate the learning effect in a timely manner.
