This course will conduct teaching practice according to the genre and skill classification of academic reading and academic writing, combining humanistic education and quality education. Through a student-centered teaching mode and effective, scientific, diverse, and practical activity exercises, the following three teaching objectives will be achieved: 1. Knowledge domain. In terms of academic reading and writing abilities, this course involves reading skills such as stance interpretation and expression, signal word extraction, comparison and comparison, as well as writing genres such as questionnaire design, chart description, report, book review, and writing skills such as defining, discussing, and stating stances. In terms of language knowledge, this course progresses from the fundamental to the in-depth, with each unit providing explanations and exercises covering vocabulary, phrases, sentence patterns, reading, writing, and translation skills. Through learning, students are able to interact and communicate appropriately in English on the topics. 2. Ability areas. This course aims to cultivate students' English application ability, help them acquire relevant skills for international communication in academic or professional fields, enhance their cross-cultural communication awareness, and cultivate their cross-cultural communication abilities. At the same time, this course is designed to cultivate students' understanding and interpretation ability of Chinese culture, tell Chinese stories well, serve the external dissemination of Chinese culture, and achieve the organic unity of instrumental and humanistic aspects. 3. Emotional domain. The theme content of each unit in this course involves materials related to improving college students' ideological and moral cultivation, humanistic quality, scientific spirit, cross-cultural ability, international perspective, etc. It focuses on strengthening students' ideals and beliefs, cultivating patriotism, enhancing moral cultivation, broadening knowledge and understanding, cultivating a spirit of struggle, and improving students' comprehensive quality through subtle influence. Organically integrate materials and content that reflect the ideology of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China into the curriculum, and implement them into specific language activities through various forms such as discussions, debates, storytelling, and report writing, in order to achieve practical results in soul building and education.
