Introduction to Rail Transit (Bilingual In Chinese and English) is a general course to learn railway and urban rail transit and their development. This course is bilingual in Chinese and English, serving Chinese college students of railway and non-railway programs, international students, employees of foreign railway enterprises and overseas railway enterprises. It enables learners at home and abroad to understand the development of China's rail transportation, and lays a foundation for the smooth transition to professional courses.
The course includes eight modules, including rail transportation, stations, rail ticketing management, train operation control system, rail vehicle classification, passenger and freight services, power supply system and rail safety management. Based on historical and international perspectives, this course tells the all-round development of China's rail transportation. It adopts bilingual teaching with Chinese and English subtitles, and adopts independent learning mode combining MOOCs, micro courses, online open courses and offline public elective courses.
