Precision is the soul of high-end manufacturing equipment, and today the precision of such equipment has reached the micro- and nano-scale. Mechanical precision design is a critical component of both equipment and product development. The course Interchangeability and Tolerancing focuses on tolerances and fits, geometric tolerances, surface roughness, dimensional inspection of smooth workpieces, and precision design issues of commonly used mechanical components. It is characterized by strong interdisciplinarity, practical relevance, and comprehensive application.
To develop a first-class undergraduate course that meets the demands of the new era and to fulfill the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, the course adheres to a student-centered and outcome-based teaching philosophy. It aims to equip students with the essential methods for precision design of commonly used components in the mechanical industry. At the same time, it integrates professional education with values-based education, cultivating students’ sense of national commitment, integrity, social responsibility, and the spirit of craftsmanship.
