Geriatric Nursing is targeted at third-year undergraduate students majoring in nursing in full-time programs, with an annual enrollment of 1500 to 2000 students in China. Based on the core and key content of geriatric nursing and incorporating the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine institutions, this course is divided into four major parts: General Introduction (primarily introducing important concepts, backgrounds, physical and mental assessments of the elderly, and medication nursing characteristics related to geriatric nursing), Nursing Care for Common Health Problems in the Elderly (focusing on the most clinically common health issues in the elderly such as falls, frailty, wasting-malnutrition, presbyacusis, and senile constipation), Nursing Care for Common Diseases in the Elderly (focusing on diseases specific to the elderly such as degenerative osteoarthritis, Alzheimer's disease, and gastroesophageal reflux disease in the elderly), and Common Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Techniques for the Elderly. Through meticulous, vivid, and systematic explanations by the instructors, learners are presented with systematic knowledge of geriatric health and diseases, as well as common traditional Chinese medicine nursing skills for caring for the elderly.
