As a core course within fire protection engineering, this course systematically constructs a complete knowledge system that spans from theoretical fundamentals through to practical engineering applications. Its content is primarily divided into five modules:
Module 1: Fundamentals of Fire Protection Water Supply and Drainage Engineering – This module explains the composition and classification of fire protection water supply systems, the interpretation of fire protection water supply and drainage construction drawings, and the preparation of budgets for these projects.
Module 2: Common Materials and Equipment in Fire Protection Water Supply and Drainage Engineering – This module covers commonly used pipes and connection methods in fire protection water supplies, the layout and installation of associated water pipelines, as well as the core equipment including fire protection water supply facilities, water flow indicators, pump set assemblies, fire hydrants, and automatic sprinkler systems.
Module 3: Installation of Fire Protection Water Supply and Drainage Systems – This module explains the installation specifications for fire protection water systems and the standards for installation quality.
Module 4: Commissioning and Acceptance Testing of Fire Protection Water Supply and Drainage Systems – This module outlines the content and requirements for the commissioning and acceptance testing of fire protection water systems.
Module 5: Operation and Management of Fire Protection Water Supply and Drainage Systems – This module discusses the management methods for fire protection water systems and details the contents and cycles of their maintenance.
The course not only offers theoretical lectures but also provides rich practical teaching sessions, such as fire pump startup operations, indoor fire hydrant pressure testing, and hands-on commissioning and acceptance testing of fire protection facilities.
