This course is an introduction to experimental fluid mechanics. Topics include: physical similarity theory that is a theoretical basis of experimental simulation using small-scale models; a wind tunnel that is a device for experimental simulation; design of experimental models; measurement principles of flow quantities, such as force, pressure, velocity, temperature, flow visualization; uncertainty analysis of measured data. The course is suitable for students in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, aerospace engineering.
