This course includes three major modules: 1) Fundamentals of English public speaking: covering basic contents such as preparation for English public speaking, speech writing, language refinement, and the use of non-verbal skills. 2) Fundamentals of English debating: including the basic forms and requirements of British parliamentary debating, argument construction and refutation, how to challenge the speaker with POIs, and debating skills for different types of motions. 3) Advanced speaking and debating skills: high-level communication skills such as impromptu speaking, telling China’s stories to the world, cross-cultural communication, and ethics in debating.
