This course is a compulsory course for undergraduate and postgraduate senior students majoring in film and television. Through course learning, students will be able to grasp the basic theories of the development and evolution of documentaries, as well as the creative characteristics of domestic and foreign documentaries. They will be trained to proficiently use different types of documentary creation techniques to conceptualize, shoot, and edit documentaries, and cultivate professional talents for telling good stories about China and spreading the voice of China. This course is a high-level comprehensive application for students to create works that are different from plot works after learning pre-courses such as audio-visual language, photography, and editing, laying a theoretical and practical foundation for students to engage in non-fiction image creation in the future. This course will adopt a teaching method of "theoretical lectures+case analysis+student practice", requiring students to master the creative characteristics and techniques of different types of documentary films, and complete a short documentary film creation in groups.
