The course focuses on enhancing students’ understanding of materials and their corresponding processes and colors (Color–Material–Finishing, CMF), as well as their ability to apply materials, processes, and color in product design.
Students will learn to recognize the intrinsic properties of commonly used modeling materials, including both physical and chemical characteristics, as well as the process-related properties of materials, such as forming processes and surface treatment techniques including color finishing.
By understanding the relationships between materials, processes, and the functions, structures, and forms of products, the course lays a solid foundation for the selection and application of materials and processes in product design.
