《统计质量控制》是东南大学机械工程学院的一门研究生选修课,是研究统计学的一般理论和方法在社会、自然、经济、工程等各个领域的应用以及在应用中遇到的具体问题的统计学解决方法,它是统计学和其他学科之间形成的交叉学科也是理论统计学发展的源泉。同时,《统计质量控制》是一门和实际生产紧密结合的应用性课程。随着国内各企业国际化进程的不断推进,国外企业的一些先进而规范的管理方法不断得到借鉴和采用。这些管理方法中包含了很多《统计质量控制》中所教内容。
