What you'll learn:
- Leaf and Spine Architecture of Next Generation Network Design
- MLAG Technology
- VARP Feature of Arista for First Hop Redundancy Protocol
- ECMP Feature in Arista
- VXLAN Overview
- EVPN-VXLAN Technology
- and Configuration Steps in LAB
Course Description
In this course, you will learn the advanced data center technologies of Arista Networks, all of which are based on open standards. By completing this course, you will strengthen your network design, configuration, and troubleshooting skills, preparing you for real-world enterprise and data center environments.
What You’ll Learn
We will cover the following technologies in detail:
MLAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation) for Layer 2 redundancy
LEAF-SPINE architecture and how it differs from traditional network designs
ECMP (Equal-Cost Multi-Path) for Layer 3 load balancing
EVPN-VXLAN for scalable and modern Layer 2 extension across Layer 3 networks
All topics are demonstrated in a hands-on lab environment. You will see every configuration step in action, and we will also include troubleshooting exercises to reinforce your understanding.
Course Structure
Section 1: Introduction and course overview
Section 2: LEAF-SPINE architecture and comparison with classic three-tier designs
Section 3: Layer 2 redundancy with MLAG
Section 4: Layer 3 redundancy using Arista’s VARP feature and ECMP for load balancing
Final Section: Building a full-scale topology — configuring underlay protocols and deploying EVPN-VXLAN. By the end, customer devices will communicate within the same broadcast domain across a Layer 3 fabric using VLAN-based VNI extensions.
