Texas Supplemental Peace Officer

Peace Officers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the public. This course is designed for currently licensed or certified peace officers outside of the State of Texas, Federal Agents, and Military Police to meet training and licensing requirements set by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) necessary to receive their Texas Peace Officer licensing. Of the current TCOLE Basic Peace Officer topics, there are seven topics specific to Texas covered in this course.This course meets Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements Supplemental Peace Officer Course #1018.The online course consists of seven learning modules. Prior to accessing the course, the participant is provided with an opportunity to download a study guide in an effort to enhance the retention of important course information. After all modules have been completed, the participant will receive a comprehensive final exam. All examinations must be passed with a minimum score of 80%. Participants have three attempts to pass each module exam and one attempt to pass the final exam. Module quizzes and the final examination can only be done in a single seating. Module quizzes and the final examination should not be started while on duty and/or if the participant may be called away from the computer for any reason.Note: Participants completing this course shall pass the same licensing exam as other applicants. It is suggested that participants study all topical areas of the current Texas Basic Peace Officer licensing course. TEEX offers a Basic Police Officer TCOLE Practice Exam as a study aid to assist with preparations for the the State test.
