Teaching English: How to Plan a Great Lesson

I have participated in several courses online, in different platforms, as Coursera, Edx, in Universities as Yale or Harvard, and in Future Learn I have had the best experience. Because, you send weekly our reminders. This particular course has been so interesting because it has a very engaged teacher, who is Claire, and it is very important to listen to her and read her when she answers, clarifies and question us as students.
The only one thing that I'd like to improve is that the time of the course is not 9 hours at all. I'd like to have a Certificate that proves more accuretely the time we spend on the courses. I spend at least 9 hours weekly reading, writing, watching videos, and that is now that I don´t have to go to the dictionary to look up for words that I don´t know the meaning or the spelling as students with lower level of English need to do or as I had to do it in the past.
Thak you so much teacher Claire to be such an engaged teacher with so many students at the time. And thank you all teachers.

The most remarkable aspect about this course is that it is eminently practical.

First of all you are introduced on the idea of approaching your students taking into account their different needs, interests, circumstances, ages, etc., in order to create rapport with them, which will allow you to create a good atmosphere in the classroom and this will motivate them to approach your subject with interest and curiosity.

The course then moves on to show and explain a wide variety of ideas, links, resources and practical information to put in practice when planning your lessons.

The comments from the rest of the students are always enlightening and a great way to circulate valuable information amongst colleagues.

I would recommend this course to anyone interested in getting fresh ideas for their lesson plans and in learning new and attractive activities for their daily classes.

I've taken part in various online teacher training courses. Usually they were more like just a set of webinars (each 2-3 hrs long!) and included tasks to check comprehension and a test to get a certificate. There was almost no collaboration with fellow teachers.
This course, however, was completely different! It was well-organized and the steps were perfectly scaffolded, too. The main advantage of this course was communication with educators and other participants. Education itslf was going on in the comments :) Participants watched parts of lessons or read articles and then shared their opinion, gave examples and collaborated in the comments. The articles were not very spacious and the videos were quite short so I was able to learn bit by bit while going to and from work or when I had a break. It was very convenient. Besides, it was possible to try something new in the classroom right away. I enoyed a possibility to discuss, to find out others' viewpoints and to express my point of view on various issues, to share ideas and experiences. The atmosphere was super-friendly! I feel that I started reflecting on my teaching more, I found my weaker and stronger points and ways to improve my lessons.
I'm sincerely grateful to everyone who participated in this course - most of all to our charming and zealous educators Clair Ross, Joshua Underwood and Suzanne Mordue who read all the comments, were quick to praise, to support or give an idea. I will definitely try other Future Learn courses.
