This course will help the participants to understand various aspects of drama with its focus on Shakespearean tragedy and comedy. It includes a detailed study of ‘Macbeth’ (a tragedy), and ‘The Merchant of Venice’ (a comedy). It will enable the participants to acknowledge and understand the dramatic structure, language, character delineation, and themes of the plays. Though the course is designed keeping in mind the U.G. students, anyone who is interested in reading and understanding Shakespearean drama can join the course. INTENDED AUDIENCE:U.G./ P.G.
