Oral History offers a new lens to the study of history and this course aims to give it a central position in the study of history for the students of UG level. This Course aims to develop an understanding of the theoretical underpinnings, methodological approaches of oral history, and the trends within the discourse. It will enable the learners to differentiate between public history and oral history as distinct fields of historical practice. At the same time, this Course will help you develop an understanding of the power and effectiveness of personal narratives as historical evidence. This Course also seeks to emphasise the value of oral history in expanding historical knowledge.
