ABOUT THE COURSE:
The entertainment industry sits at the intersection of culture, creativity, business and law. From the creation of cultural products to their dissemination through public performances, screening, issue of copies, streaming etc., legal frameworks play a decisive role in shaping of the entertainment markets. The regulatory framework of entertainment industry is an emerging area for compliance practice.
This course will comprehensively cover laws governing the entertainment industry, focusing on protection of their intellectual property, contractual relationships, regulatory clearances including censorship laws and governance of digital platforms. Using case laws and real-world examples, the course will connect legal principles, industry practices, policy measures and will enable learners to understand the legal structures governing the music and entertainment industry. The course will equip the learners to, gain deeper understanding of the legal practices in the sector, ability to appreciate the emerging issues and take up compliance practice as a career.
INTENDED AUDIENCE: UG/PG/PhD students of engineering, management, law and allied disciplines who want to learn regulatory framework of entertainment industry.
