ABOUT THE COURSE:
Alternative finance has emerged as an important stream in mainstream finance with the financialization of different commodities in the early 2000s, and post-global financial crisis (2007-08), it has emerged as an important discipline with the addition of a variety of instruments. This course is specifically designed to introduce students to the world of alternative finance and equip them with the core topics and their role in hedging and risk management. The understanding of derivatives is not a prerequisite for the course, as it includes a basic exposure to derivatives in the beginning.
